Light does not produce sound because it is not a vibration on a material. While photons can cause sound by local excitation of matter, light itself does not make any sound yet it can be converted to material vibration through being absorbed by matter.

Sound, however, can make light via sonoluminescence, where high-energy sound causes cavitation bubbles which collapse with enough energy to give of light.

The Vast Decay offers a new exploration in sonic landscapes via droning pulses, spacious chambers and crackling static. Completely devoid of percussion this ambient, somewhat theatrical work offers audible time and space for reflection providing a soundtrack for light and energy slowly emanating from the corners of the night sky.
