Dreams without end (dwe) is a loop-based project consisting of loopy ambient, experimental and drone based music. Just yesterday “this is where it ends” was released via dwe (link below). The somewhat lo-fi ambient score contains resonant filtered white noise and looped minimal note progressions buried in a sea of echoes and hiss. Listening to the lengthy tracks again I thought the beatless textures would work nicely reworked as dub techno tracks. While there have been Downscope remixes of dwe content in the past they were always exclusive to the dwe catalog. This time I decided to cross-pollinate them into the DS library.

The core elements of the original ambient tracks are run through various gates, filters and delay effects to create the new interpretations of this release. Since dreams without end began as a cassette platform I thought it would be also appropriate to make this a tape release for physical enthusiasts.

Paying homage to the inspiring photography of Jane Eyre, the DOWNSCOPE DUB REMIXES features the same cover image with just a slightly different treatment.
