As summer approaches many venture the skies as part of their journey to escape and visit a distant land. Yet as a means to an end, often the blissful sight above clouds is ignored in favor of electronic tablets or even shut eyelids to quicken the sense of time. Yet once grounded, the same will then look to the heavens in awe.

"Ambient Skies" celebrates the high, open elevations where sound has less obstacles and where clouds offer a psychological cushion to rest thoughts upon while drifting through time and space.

For this album I dug into the back catalogue to revisit the 2019 dub techno release, “Concrete Sky.” Removing the grounding element of percussion (perhaps the “concrete” structure that was the foundation of the previous work) creating a completely re-envisioned album with beatless tracks of drifty, ambient dub.

Most tracks retain the original instrument sound sources, yet they are completely restructured, re-composed, and heavily smeared to create a more spacious and dreamy experience.
