On the eve of the 25th anniversary of Chain Reaction (the Berlin sub-label of Basic Channel) this album celebrates the soundscape that defined a genre of music. A mix of sampled snippets from the classics, mangled and reprocessed and newly inspired raw creations make up this work aptly titled "Reactions". Certainly this is not the first time the CR legacy has resurfaced in some reworked form or another in a vast world of envious DJs and producers. The sonic landscape created by René Löwe, Torsten Pröfrock, Edward George, Anna Piva, Trevor Mathison, Sasu Ripatti, Konstantinos Soublis and others on the label is just as hypnotizing and timeless as the Berlin techno days of the mid 1990s.

The sampling for this production ended up being used mostly as inspiration and smeared backdrops; shadows that lurk in granular grains. Just enough to prime the canvas before crafting ahead.
The "Reactions" presented range from ambient / dub techno to minimal techno club tracks all pouring from the same grey, steamy cauldron.

The sessions presented contain a hybrid of hardware and software. Modular synthesiszers, the MFB Tanzbär 2 drum machine, various looper and effect pedals on the hard end, with Propellerhead Reason’s tools of virtual synths, granular processing and percussion via the DAW side.

For those that have not ventured the original Chain Reaction catalog it is imperative that you do. It is a euphoric rabbit hole from which you'll never wish to leave.
