This album covers several influences from my past, all from a vast audible spectrum of early minimal and dub techno works from the 1990s such as Chain Reaction label artists and even Basic Channel. In the process even some of my own previous works began to echo into the mix, such as the sonic minimalism of the Sleeping Ions series or the numbing repetition of my Athena Code project. Regardless, this is a Downscope release through and through and was an absolute joy to create.

In addition to software manipulations and effect units the core equipment used for Optics were: Access Virus KC, Korg SQ-1, and the MFB Tanzbär 2.
